Central Vermont Medical Center President and CEO, Judy Tarr, is pleased to announce that Sarah L. Davies, MD has joined Green Mountain Family Practice, Northfield.
Dr. Davies recently completed three years of residency training at the University of Vermont in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Fletcher Allen Health Care. While there, she also worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont and was the Chief Resident for the Family Residency Program.
During her residency, Dr. Davies also headed several activities to promote healthier living activities with school-aged children such as “Helmets on Heads” (promoting the use of helmets during biking and skiing), “Tar Wars” (reinforcing a tobacco free lifestyle), and “Girls on the Run” (coaching groups of fifth grade girls to promote healthy living and positive body image).
Dr. Davies is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has her licensure/certifications in Advanced Wilderness Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Provider.
Before coming to Vermont, Davies graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. “What really drew me to Vermont,” Davies remarked, “was the natural beauty and the good natured people who live here. I liked it so much during residency that I stayed.”
In her spare time, Davies will be walking across the street from her office at Green Mountain Family Practice to assist in coaching Norwich University’s Girls Volleyball Team, a sport she enjoyed playing while earning her undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Davies is also an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, mountain biking and downhill and backcountry skiing.
Central Vermont Medical Center’s primary care practices, including Green Mountain Family Practice in Northfield, are now accepting new patients. Call 802-371-5972 to make an appointment.
