UVM Radiologist Named to Endowed Professorship

Christopher G. Filippi, M.D., associate professor of radiology at the University of Vermont (UVM) College of Medicine, was recently appointed the John P. & Kathryn H. Tampas, M.D. '54 Green & Gold Professor in Radiology.

Filippi joined the UVM/Fletcher Allen faculty in 2004 and specializes in adult and pediatric neuroradiology, functional MRI and musculoskeletal MRI. He also serves as director of Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Fletcher Allen Health Care. He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed residency training in diagnostic radiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and a radiology fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He currently resides in Grand Isle, Vt.

A long-time supporter of UVM, former chair of radiology and UVM undergraduate and medical alumnus John Tampas, M.D., and his wife Kathryn, established this endowed position in the department of radiology at the College of Medicine in 2005. The honor helps support the work of a faculty member whose work teaches others to use the discipline's modalities to deliver exemplary patient care.
