Dr. Koo joins Family Psychiatry Associates

Andrew L. Koo, MD recently joined Family Psychiatry Associates, a member of the Central Vermont Medical Center Group. Dr. Koo is trained in adult and child psychiatry having recently completed his Psychiatry Residency and Child Psychiatry Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

He grew up in Virginia, where he earned an Advanced Studies Diploma with Governor’s Seal at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria. Dr. Koo graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S. in Biology. He received his MD at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.

Dr. Koo joins Paul Cameron, MD, Rose Ehret, MD, James Greenleaf, NP and Maureen Wilson, LICSW, BCD at Family Psychiatry. In addition to seeing patients at Family Psychiatry Associates, Dr. Koo will also spend one day a week seeing patients at Barre Internal Medicine and one day a week at Associates in Pediatrics located in Berlin.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Koo to our staff,” stated CVMC President and CEO Judy Tarr. “Adding another psychiatrist to Family Psychiatry Associates allows us the opportunity to bring psychiatric services directly to the patients in some of our other practices.”

Dr. Koo’s interest in the outdoors especially hiking and cross country skiing played a part in his desire to practice psychiatry in New England. “The opportunity to interface with primary care practices was an important component in my decision to work at CVMC,” noted Dr. Koo. “The abundance of nearby recreational opportunities are a bonus.”
