The American Institute of Architects, Vermont Chapter (AIA-VT) is pleased to announce the selection of Carol Miklos as its new executive director. Carol, a Charlotte resident and a graduate of UVM, brings over 25 years of nonprofit management, marketing, communication, development, member relations, and event management experience to AIA-VT—including seven years as the communication director for the Vermont Cancer Center at UVM; several years in leadership positions Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility and South End Arts & Business Association, and multiple years with advertising and marketing research agencies. Miklos assumes executive director responsibilities from Fayston resident Hanne Williams, who retired after 40 years of service to AIA-VT and had concurrently served as executive director for AIA-New England from 1978-1988. Daniel Johnson, president, Board of Directors, AIA-VT, said, “We’re very excited about having Carol join our organization. She brings many fresh ideas to the table and we look forward to beginning a new chapter in the AIA-VT book. We also wish Hanne the best for her future; over the years, she skillfully adjusted to the work styles of 23 presidents and helped us develop strong relationships at the national and regional levels. These relationships will continue to benefit all of us as we move forward.”
AIA-VT, the Vermont Chapter of the American Institute of Architects since 1948, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of our built environment and thereby our quality of life through advocacy, outreach, education, fellowship, and design and scholarship award competitions. The organization has nearly 300 members, including architects, associates, and professional affiliates.
