Chef Mark Timms leads Vermont Chefs in Philanthropy & Collaborations

A star-studded cast of Vermont chefs, dubbed Team Vermont, has been breaking new ground bringing the culinary arts of Vermont to the James Beard House in New York City and back to Vermont, raising awareness and funds for the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, and teaming together promoting each other’s work and restaurants – helping strengthen Vermont’s position on the international culinary stage.

The Team Vermont Captain, Chef Mark Timms of Norma’s Restaurant at Topnotch Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vermont, is leading the group of talented Vermont chefs including Eric Warnstedt of Hen of the Wood, Michael Kloeti of Michael’s on the Hill, Steve & Lara Atkins of The Kitchen Table Bistro, Aaron Josinsky of The Bluebird Tavern, Curtiss Hemm of NECI, and Lee Duberman of Ariel’s Restaurant at the upcoming Star Chef Food & Wine Show being held August 21st at Topnotch Resort. Additional chefs from around the country will pair off with Vermont chefs for this lively event to be emceed by WCAX’s Tim Kavanaugh and The Food Network’s Jacob Schiffman.

Timms led Team Vermont at the Vermont Dinner in March at the legendary James Beard House in New York City. Plans are underway for a repeat performance, only in Vermont this time – On October 18th, The Kitchen Table Bistro will play host to the Friends of James Beard Dinner

Chef Mark Timms’ next adventure will be as the new chef judge at the Top Chef of the Champlain Valleybeing held at UVM on August 9th to benefit the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging.
