Saint Michael’s College named Mallory Wood of Burlington, formerly of Chateaugay, N.Y., assistant director of marketing with a focus on social media, starting June 1. Ms. Wood was an admission counselor at the college from August 2008 till June 2010. Saint Michael’s is one of the rare schools that has put a social media specialist in marketing, not as an adjunct to admissions or alumni relations, Ms. Wood said. She will focus her efforts towards expanding social media vehicles and use for both of those college departments, and for the whole college. A Phi Beta Kappa 2008 graduate of Saint Michael’s College, Ms. Wood earned her degree magna cum laude in religious studies, with minors in marketing and classics. She spenat a study-abroad semester at Oxford University in England studying church history. She also served as vice president of the student association her senior year, and was the 2008 recipient of the prestigious Saint Michael’s Award.
