VGTA elects new board

The Vermont Gay Tourism Association (VGTA), the only statewide organization that markets Vermont tthe Gay & Lesbian traveler, has elected a new board of directors and has formed new initiatives.

The VGTA has elected a diverse new board of directors representing a wide array of Vermont tourism professionals. Board members include:

President & Treasurer: Willie Docto, Moose Meadow Lodge

Vice President: Karen Pike, Karen Pike Photography

Secretary: Tim Lynk, Basin Harbor Club

Membershp: Gwendy Lauritzen, Notch Above Tours

Marketing: Dave Hakins, The Essex Resort & Spa

Board Member: George Defina, Deer Brook Inn

Board Member: Gail Albert, Shelburne Vineyards

Board Member: Steve Karnes, Vermont Bride Magazine

The new Board will be focusing on key marketing and public relations programs, such as:

The Vermont Gay Tourism Association is a nonprofit membership organization of more than 30 gay-friendly businesses. It was incorporated in 2003 with the mission of promoting the state of Vermont tthe GLBT traveler. The VGTA was formed tcompete with better-known GLBT travel destinations with much larger marketing budgets such as Montreal, Provincetown, Philadelphia, Key West and others.
