Forcier Aldrich & Associates, Inc, is pleased to announce that Jason R. Booth, PE, has been selected by a jury of peers from Vermont's engineering societies as the 2010 Vermont Young Engineer of the Year. As part of National Engineers Week, Governor Jim Douglas and Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie presented the award to Mr. Booth at the State house on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Mr. Booth was also recognized for this award at the Engineers Week Banquet, which was held at the Sheraton Hotel, in Burlington, Vermont on February 19, 2010. This award recognizes an outstanding and well-rounded record of achievement in education, employment, professional, engineering, and public service activities. Mr. Booth was nominated by the Vermont Society of Professional Engineers (VSPE), the Vermont Chapter - American Society of Civil Engineers (VT ASCE), and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Vermont (ACEC), for his professional work, participation in the engineering community, and public service.
Mr. Booth is a project engineer and project manager at Forcier Aldrich & Associates where he has worked since graduating from UVM in 2003. During that time he has worked on a number of significant engineering projects largely involving the design of transmission and treatment of water and wastewater systems in numerous locations. His focus for the past year has been largely in construction and construction management. Mr. Booth is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Vermont.
Outside the office, Mr. Booth is involved in several professional societies. He is president elect of the Vermont Society of Professional Engineers, and will become President in 2011. Mr. Booth also serves on the Membership committee and the Engineers Banquet Committee for VSPE. Furthermore, he is the president elect of the Vermont Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and will become President in May 2010. He is also the ASCE Norwich University Practitioner Advisor.
In his community of Fairfield, Mr. Booth is Chair of the town's grant writing committee which submits and manages grants to benefit the community.
In addition to all of these professional, personal and community activities, Mr. Booth is enrolled in a Professional Certificate in Leadership and Management Program at UVM and expects to complete his studies in May 2010.
