Robert Stearns named general manager of Manchester Country Club

Robert Stearns, Head Professional of the Manchester Country Club in Manchester, Vermont, has been named to the additional post of General Manager, it was announced today by Rudy Weaver, President of the Club.

In making the announcement, Mr. Weaver noted that the Club's Board of Directors had unanimously chosen Bob, who has been head Pro of the Club for 17 years, for this new position of responsibility because of "his management experience and the superb job he's done for our members during his tenure as Head Pro". "This is a crucial position for our club and its members" said Mr. Weaver. "We think Bob is the ideal professional to bring new ideas and structure to our already exceptional Club, and we are delighted that he has accepted our offer."

Bob started his golf career in 1984 after a 10-year career in retail

management. He attended the San Diego Golf Academy in 1984-1985, where he received an associate degree in business, and subsequently servedhis PGA Apprenticeship in Borrego Springs, California and Augusta, Maine. Bob has been the Head Golf Professional at Rams Hill Country Club in Borrego Springs, California and at the Sheridan Country Club in Sheridan, Wyoming. He joined Manchester Country Club as Head Pro in 1992. Bob is a 20 year member of the P.G.A. of America and has achieved Certified Professional Status in General Management.
