Kathleen H. Davis Receives Martindale-Hubbell’s Highest Rating

Kathleen H. Davis, a director and chair of the Captive Insurance Practice Group at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, has received the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, one of the oldest and most prestigious lawyer-ranking organizations.

The rating is based on peer evaluations of Davis’ legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication ability and legal experience. In addition, she and other rated attorneys first had to meet Martindale-Hubbell’s “very high” criteria for adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability and diligence.

A leader in the captive insurance industry, Davis joined DRM shortly after the Vermont Legislature enacted the statutory framework for captive formation. Today, Vermont is the largest U.S. captive domicile, second in the world in terms of assets and the third largest in number of licenses. Davis has advised numerous captive insurance companies on formation and operational issues for more than 25 years. She has served as the firm’s deputy managing partner and chief operations officer.
