Noreen Lenilko, a long-time resident of Sunderland, has returned to the area as Interim Senior Case Manager for the Upward Bound Program at Southern Vermont College. She will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of managing the students in the Upward Bound program, including academic counseling, career development and assessment, college preparatory, and post-counseling for alumni from the program.
Previously, Lenilko was employed at Fort Meyers, Fla., as a Targeted Case Manager for Family Preservation Services and as a Child Protection Investigator for the Department of Children and Families. She was also the Youth Development Coordinator for the Sunrise Family Resource Center, Case Manager Bennington County Court Division and as a Para-professional for Bennington School, Inc.
Lenilko earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and minored in Sociology from Southern Vermont College.
Upward Bound at Southern Vermont College is a college preparatory program which helps students develop the skills, motivation, and self-confidence necessary for success in and beyond high school. Southern Vermont is one of more than 500 participating colleges around the country that has been the home of Upward Bound in the Bennington area since 1979. Upward Bound is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The Southern Vermont College Upward Bound program serves students in grades 9 to 12 from high schools in New York, Vermont and Massachusetts.
