Far Post announces management reorganization

Far Post Soccer Club, a premier soccer organization in Vermont, announces changes in its management structure designed to enhance both the on-field experience and the day-to-day operations of the club. Effective Sept. 1, Jared Cadwell of Fayston will assume the newly created part-time general manager duties of Far Post while long-time Executive Director Todd Kingsbury will move into the position of Director of Soccer.

"We're fortunate to have two highly qualified people to steer an already successful club toward an even higher level of excellence," said Far Post Board of Director's Chair Leigh Cole. "This move allows Todd to focus his efforts on the education and development of soccer players while Jared concentrates on the business affairs of Far Post."

As GM, Cadwell will have a wide variety of duties including oversight of budgets, payroll, fundraising, club promotion, outreach, sponsorships and business administration. With experience that includes serving as Executive Director of Project Harmony, an international community and cultural enhancement program, and as Headmaster of the Green Mountain Valley School ski academy, Cadwell has tremendous experience running innovative non-profit and educational organizations. A 1977 graduate of Middlebury College, Cadwell has served as a Far Post and high school boys and girls soccer coach.

Kingsbury, a 1990 graduate of the University of Vermont has served as Executive Director of Far Post since 2001. As Director of Soccer, he'll focus on the Far Post curriculum, training and competition, development of teams, players and coaches, camps and clinics, and serve as liaison to both athletes and parents. Kingsbury brings a depth of soccer experience to this position, as an ex-collegiate player and as a coach.

"This staff reorganization gives me a wonderful opportunity to give the on-field activities my full attention," said Kingsbury. "I'm with Far Post because of my love of soccer and my commitment to coaching and players. My new role allows me more access to the game and our athletes at every level of the club."

The reorganization comes as Far Post begins the 2009-10 travel team season that begins in November and runs into July, with winter indoor league play open to the community. The 2009 travel team season ended last month after four Far Post teams advanced to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Championships in West Virginia. Founded in 1996, Far Post is a premier youth soccer club based at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Jct., Vt. Far Post is committed to developing players of all ages with a passion for soccer. Far Post teaches players to play soccer at the highest levels with a focus on love for the game. Approximately 400 girls and boys ages 8-18 participate in Far Post travel teams.
