New Hires at Pharmacy College

The Colchester, Vermont, campus of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has announced the hiring of four new faculty members. There are now 12 full-time faculty on staff at the College. The campus will begin classes on Monday, August 31, 2009.

The new faculty members are as follows:

Kathy Boland, Pharm.D.

Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Ronald A. DeBellis, RPh, EdD

Assistant Dean for Student Affairs

Dorothy Pumo, Ph.D.

Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences

Sommer Zarbock, Pharm.D.

The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences satellite campus in Colchester, Vermont is home to the only pharmacy program in the state.

Students attending ACPHS-Vermont have already obtained four-year undergraduate degrees or have completed all college course prerequisites prior to enrollment. An estimated 70 students will comprise the inaugural class this fall, with the program eventually expanding to nearly 300 students when fully implemented. Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.). The Pharm.D. is the current entry-level degree for the profession of pharmacy in the United States.

The main campus building is located at 261 Mountain View Drive in Colchester’s Water Tower Hill development.
