Woodridge hires Rehab Services Manager and staff

Woodridge recently hired a Rehab Services Manager and physical and occupational therapists to augment staff working with the increasing number of short-term stays for rehabilitation therapy.

Julie Griffis, PT, was appointed Rehabilitation Services Manager. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy, and is currently working towards completion of her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through the Arizona School in Health Sciences. She comes to Woodridge with many years of experience, ranging from working with adults in outpatient and acute care settings, to working with children in the home health system. Julie has worked in the skilled nursing home system for four years and has been managing rehabilitation departments for three years. She looks forward to the opportunity to facilitate the progression of the rehabilitation department at Woodridge to continue to provide the best patient care possible.

Denise Hartman, PT, graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy, and received her Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Her experience includes working with special needs students in public schools and working in an acute care hospital as the director of rehabilitation. She has focused much of her career on the development of clinical programming to improve quality of care. She is a self-taught ceramic potter and is an extremely gifted and creative artist as well. Denise is especially excited about returning to an inpatient healthcare setting to practice her therapy skills at Woodridge.

Ryan Can, OTR, graduated from the University of New England in Maine with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy and Psychology, and is currently working towards completion of his PhD in Social Relations at the University of New Hampshire. His clinical experience includes working with patients in a trauma care center with spinal cord injuries within the pediatric population, and he has a special interest in geriatrics. His hobbies include snowboarding, mountain biking and travel. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and now lives in Morrisville, Vermont.

These three professionals join the existing team: Marcy Bruno, OTR; Amy Jamieson, SLP; and Cindy Davis, Rehab Aide.
