William A. Baker, President of the Vermont Children's Aid Society Board of Directors announced the appointment of Denise Nagelschmidt as Interim Executive Director of the Vermont Children's Aid Society. Baker noted that Denise has provided exceptional leadership to the agency and its Board of Directors, rising to become President of the Board this last November.
Baker said the agency is lucky to now be able to tap her talent energy and administrative experience in a time of transition. Her professional career includes work with the Burlington Law Firm Paul, Frank + Collins, Bombardier Capital, Vermont Public Television and Boston-based market research firm the Yankee Group. Today's non-profit agencies must be nimble, astute and visionary in fulfilling their mission of service and Denise is the right person to assure that VCAS continues to have those attributes.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2009, Vermont Children's Aid Society is a private not-for-profit organization with offices in Winooski and Woodstock, Vermont. Professional staff has been supporting and strengthening families since 1919 through a variety of comprehensive programs including adoption services, child and family counseling, a children's summer camp, and services for families affected by a parent's incarceration. VCAS services promote safe, stable, and nurturing environments for children.
VCAS is a member of five United Way chapters in Vermont and the Child Welfare League of America, and is a recipient of the Better Business Bureau's Charity Seal. For more information about the agency's work visit www.vtcas.org.
