Executive Vice President of Merchants Bank, Thomas S. Leavitt, announced the appointment of Christine T. Auriemma to the position of market manager for Chittenden County. She succeeds Prielle Kane, who is relocating to Connecticut. Auriemma has 15 years of experience with Merchants Bank, starting with her role as head teller and then customer representative at the College Street branch in Burlington. Auriemma transferred to the Service Center in 1999 as a Processor/Analyst in the Credit Department. In September 2002, she was appointed to Branch President of Merchants’ North Avenue office and relocated to White Street in April 2005, succeeding Ardy Cochran as Branch President. Since the formation of Merchants Bank’s Market Teams in mid-2007, Auriemma and her branch have been important contributors, earning the ultimate distinction as "2008 Market Team of the Year." Auriemma has continued to excel in her lending role, and has served as a Certified Trainer for real estate loan programs for many years.
Auriemma will continue to operate from White Street and will now oversee the Essex and Kennedy Drive branches. The Essex office is led by Branch President, Kelly Kimball. The Kennedy Drive office is led by Branch President, Christopher Jarvis.
