VSAC promotes Cargill and Leduc to vice president

Vermont Student Assistance Corp. today announced it has promoted two long-time employees to vice president.

Marilyn Cargill has been named vice president of financial aid services and research. Cargill joined VSAC in 1984 to help manage the grant department. She has been the director of the financial aid services team since 2004. A member of the executive board of the National Association of State Student Grant and Aid Programs, Cargill has also served as that organization’s secretary and president. Cargill lives in Monkton.

Patrick Leduc has been named chief information officer and vice president of career and education outreach. Leduc joined VSAC in 1995 and has been the director of IT and project management for 12 years. His focus on technology and business re-design has been instrumental in the restructuring of VSAC’s operations.

A resident of South Burlington, Leduc is a board member of South Burlington Mentoring and has been involved with the startup of other community-based programs. He is a member of the 2014 class of the Vermont Leadership Institute.

“Marilyn and Patrick are proven leaders and strategic thinkers, and I look forward to working closely with them in their new roles,” said Scott A. Giles, VSAC President and CEO. “Their strong contributions make it possible for VSAC to continue to help Vermonters to pursue their education goals beyond high school.”
