Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) has announced the appointment of Kate McIntosh, MD, FAAP as medical director and Anthony Esposito, PMP as project manager. Joshua Cheney was also named administrative assistant.
As medical director, McIntosh will collaborate with VITL’s leadership team to develop ways to leverage Vermont’s health information network to improve clinical care. A practicing pediatrician, Dr. McIntosh has been the managing partner of Rainbow Pediatrics in Middlebury since 2004 and has held multiple administrative positions in recent years, including chief of pediatrics at Porter Hospital since 2010. Dr. McIntosh has also been a member of the board at Porter Hospital since 2011. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College, her medical degree from University of Colorado and completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Michigan. Board Certified in Pediatrics, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has worked as a hospitalist and as a primary care pediatrician. She resides in Middlebury.
Esposito joins VITL from Allscripts in South Burlington, where he served as senior project manager. Previously he was a project manager for Keane, Inc. in Montpelier and Protech Solutions in Trenton, NJ. A resident of Essex Junction, Esposito received a bachelor’s degree from Champlain College and a certificate in project management from Villanova University. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute and is PMP certified.
Cheney will work in VITL’s Burlington office as an administrative assistant. He joins the organization from The Episcopal Diocese of Vermont where he held the same position. Cheney received a bachelor’s degree from Burlington College and resides in Burlington.
Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL) is a non-profit organization that assists Vermont health care providers statewide with adopting and using health information technology to improve the quality of care delivery as well as to enhance patient safety and outcomes. Comprised of a collaborative group of stakeholders including health plans, hospitals, physicians, other health care providers, state government, employers, and consumers, VITL is the designated health information exchange (HIE) for the state of Vermont and also the state’s federally-designated regional extension center.
