HowardCenter Board of Trustees has elected Matthew Frazee of Williston and Connie Stabler of South Burlington to three-year terms. They succeed Dan Balon and Curt Hennigar, whose terms expired.
Frazee, a CPA, joined National Life Group as Vice President and Controller this year. Previously, Frazee served in Deloitte’s Hartford office, where he was lead senior manager for one of the firm’s largest global strategic clients. While at Deloitte, he led the Hartford office United Way campaign, started the firm’s Junior Achievement initiative, and served as a board member for the non-profit Our Piece of the Pie.
Frazee has expertise in auditing, technical accounting, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions transactions, and finance transformation. He is a frequent speaker to insurance and energy industry audiences.
Stabler is Executive Assistant to the President/CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties, for which she coordinates activities for the Board of Directors and the Senior Leadership Team.
She served on the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Vermont Board of Directors for three years, two of them as Chair. She is a member of the NAMI Vermont Advocacy Committee and has testified at the State Legislature on mental health issues, including the mental health parity bill and increased spending for mental health services.
An experienced mental health advocate, Stabler has taught the 12-week NAMI Family-to-Family course that helps family members learn about mental illness and services available.
In addition, the Board of Trustees elected new officers, including Mark Baglini as President and Elizabeth Bassett as Vice President. Baglini joined the Board in 1997. He is WW Storage Profit Leader at IBM Systems and Technology Group. He lives in Essex. Bassett, who joined the board in 2006, is a freelance writer and author of Nature Walks in Northern Vermont and the Champlain Valley. She lives in Charlotte. John McSoley was elected Treasurer, and Marna Tulin, Secretary.
