New leadership for United Way of Chittenden County community campaign announced

United Way of Chittenden County (UWCC) today announced new leadership for their annual Community Campaign. Michael Seaver, Vermont President of People’s United Bank, is serving as the volunteer Chair of the Community Campaign and Jane Warren, a former Loaned Executive for the organization, is the new Community Campaign Manager. The campaign, which begins in the fall, is the major fundraising effort for the United Way. The money raised from the campaign goes to support community-determined priority initiatives focusing on Education, Income, and Health. “From the challenging economy which has driven cuts in programs and services, to severe weather, it seems that our less fortunate neighbors cannot catch a break. United Way is a critical resource in not only funding for our results-oriented nonprofits, but also in uncovering changing needs within our communities and then developing sustainable programs to support those needs,” said Seaver.

Michael Seaver is a Board Member of United Way of Chittenden County, and past Chair of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, where he continues to serve on the Executive Committee. He is also a Trustee of Mayo Healthcare, Inc. in Northfield, Vermont, Immediate Past Chair and a member of the Executive Committee of the Vermont Bankers Association, and a member of the Government Relations Council of American Bankers Association. His 31-year banking career began in 1981, when he joined Chittenden Bank after graduating from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Seaver resides in Burlington with his wife Linda. The couple has three sons.

Jane Warren joined the staff of United Way in May of this year as Community Campaign Manager, following years of volunteer service on United Way’s Education Impact Team. She also spent seven months at UWCC as a Loaned Executive on the 2011 campaign. A graduate of the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Jane and her husband David moved to Vermont from Maine in 2006 where they had worked at the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. Working in front of the microphone and behind the scenes at Maine Public Radio for over 20 years, Jane brings to UWCC a strong background in operations and project management, labor relations and contract negotiation, and a lifelong commitment of service to nonprofit organizations. Jane and her husband live in Colchester with their daughter.
