Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB) announces that Briana Cronin, PE has been promoted to Project Manager in the firm’s North Ferrisburgh, Vt. office. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as a Master’s degree from the University of Delaware, Mrs. Cronin joined VHB in 2008, as an Engineering in Training.
Mrs. Cronin is a structural engineer whose experience is focused on concrete, steel, and wood structure design including the plan development, inspection, design, and ratings of highway, railroad, and pedestrian bridges. She is also skilled in computer aided drafting, and is skilled in MicroStation and AutoCad. Mrs. Cronin recently served as a Project Engineer on many of VHB’s emergency transportation engineering projects for VTrans and municipalities,
which resulted from Tropical Storm Irene, including the reconstruction of VT Route 107, multiple bridge assessments in Stockbridge, VT, and the inspection of over 90 railroad bridges damaged by the storm.
VHB is pleased to announce that Erin Parizo joined the staff of its North Ferrisburgh, Vermont office earlier this year. Ms. Parizo graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, and a minor in Mathematics. During college, Erin interned for one year with the Burlington Department of Public Works as an Engineering Intern, and also worked for two summers as a Traffic Technician for the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO). Since graduation, Erin worked for Resource Systems Group (RSG) in Burlington as a Transportation Engineer.
Ms. Parizo has quickly become a valuable member of VHB’s Vermont engineering group with experience in transportation engineering projects ranging from planning and scoping studies, traffic calming design, parking management studies, and complete street conceptual design. She is currently assisting with Local Project Manager duties on two large-scale projects - the St. Albans Multi-Modal Connector project, and the Severance Corners Improvement project in Colchester. Ms. Parizo also is a staff engineer on several of VHB’s projects under on-call contracts with VTrans, providing structural, roadway/safety, and design-build services.
VHB is pleased to announce that Jon Lemieux joined the staff of its North Ferrisburgh, Vermont office earlier this year. Jon graduated from Vermont Technical College (VTC) in May 2011 with an Associate’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Prior to attending VTC, Jon was in the Army, where he attended the U.S. Army Metalworker/Welder School at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland and operated heavy equipment in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. VHB is proud to have him on staff. Since graduation from VTC and prior to joining VHB, Jon worked for J.A. McDonald performing construction layout, roadway design, and equipment operation.
Mr. Lemieux works as an Engineering Technician in VHB’s North Ferrisburgh office, providing CAD/D services to the Structural Engineering Group. Currently he is working on plans for several bridge replacement projects, including Bridge #34 in Rochester, VT and two VTrans bridge replacements in Hubbardton, VT.
