Local Nursing Students awarded scholarship

Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene presented Cheshire Health Foundation nursing scholarships to several students who entered a Baccalaureate of Science nursing program this fall. Funding for the award originates from gifts made by Leslie S. Hubbard in memory of his wife, Iola M. Hubbard, and by Alice Gilbert in memory of her husband, Frederick Gilbert.

The scholarship encourages graduating high school students from Sullivan and Cheshire Counties in New Hampshire and Windham County in Vermont to enroll in a nursing program. The students and region are indebted to the generous donors for their support of healthcare and education.

Recipient Cassidy Anderson of West Wardsboro, VT, a 2011 graduate from Leland and Gray Union High School, will attend the University of Vermont in Burlington.
