Dartmouth-Hitchcock was well-represented at the New Hampshire Hospital Association’s (NHHA) annual meeting, held at the Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods September 18-19, with two of its leaders earning distinguished recognition.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Boards of Trustees member Wayne G. Granquist received the Outstanding Trustee of the Year Award, which is presented annually to a trustee of an NHHA-member institution whose achievement in the field of hospital trusteeship stands out above all others, and who serves as an example to encourage others in the pursuit of excellence in hospital governance.
Frank G. McDougall, Jr., Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Vice President of Government Relations, received the President’s Award, given to an active Association member who has made an exceptional contribution directly to NHHA. Presented each year, the award is given for dedicated service to the affairs, management, and/or creative growth of the Association and its affiliates.
“We are delighted that Wayne Granquist and Frank McDougall have been recognized for their outstanding work in supporting the missions of both Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the New Hampshire Hospital Association to advance the health and health care of patients and communities throughout the state,” said Nancy A. Formella, MSN, RN, President of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital.
In a joint statement, Formella and James N. Weinstein, DO, MS, President of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic, said: “We have many exceptional Trustees who provide solid board leadership, chair development campaigns, and guide hospital management in launching new programs—Wayne has done all of this exceedingly well. He is someone who believes in continuous improvement, driving the organization forward and not resting on the accomplishments of today. Additionally, Frank is an exceptional health care advocate, not just for Dartmouth-Hitchcock but for all hospitals in New Hampshire. He is a leader in the NH Hospital Association’s advocacy efforts at both the state and federal levels.”
The members of the NH Hospital Association also elected new officers and trustees at the annual meeting, with Formella being named the new Chair of the NHHA’s Board of Trustees. “It’s a privilege to serve alongside so many talented and dedicated leaders from across our state’s hospital system,” she said. “I look forward to working with a group that is so committed to achieving the Association’s vision of delivering compassionate, accessible, high-quality, and financially sustainable health care.”
