Kinney Pike Insurance Recognizes 2009 Top Producers

Kinney Pike Insurance, a leading independent insurance agency in Vermont, announced its top producers for 2009, recognized for producing the most new business in both the commercial and personal insurance lines of business. Stephanie Cass has been honored with the 2009 Barwood Sales Achievement Award for personal lines insurance. Adam Osha has been honored with the 2009 Dorsey Award, awarded to the commercial insurance Account Executive producing the top sales. Osha has been recognized with this acclaimed honor for five consecutive years at Kinney Pike.

Cass and Osha, both based out of Kinney Pike’s White River Junction office, competed against employees in six offices located throughout Vermont. With the exceptional efforts of their sales team, Kinney Pike has been successful in attracting new business and maintaining loyal customers for over 100 years.

The Barwood Award’s name sake is Wendell A. Barwood, who owned and operated the Barwood Insurance Agency in the Upper Valley region of Vermont for many years. Kinney Pike Insurance purchased the Barwood Agency in 1989. The Dorsey Award’s name sake is Stephen C. Dorsey, who established the Kinney Pike Agency in 1904.

Shumlin for Governor adds to campaign organization

The Shumlin for Governor campaign has announced additions to its campaign organization.

Bryan Hageny will join the campaign as field director. For the past two years Hageny has served as the deputy training director at Democracy for America, the Vermont-based grassroots political organization founded by Governor Howard Dean. As deputy training director Hageny trained grassroots activists around the country in the skills and strategies necessary to manage successful campaigns or run for office themselves. Prior to joining Democracy for America Hageny worked as a community organizer for the Progressive Voter Network in Philadelphia and as the lead recruiter for Power Shift in Washington, DC.

The campaign is also pleased to announce that Arthur Berndt will serve as finance chair. Berndt and his wife, Anne, own and operate Maverick Farm in Sharon, one of Vermont’s largest producers of maple syrup. Berndt served as finance co-chair for Peter Welch in 2006 and was a member of the Dean’s List fundraising committee for Governor Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign.
