14 DRM attorneys listed in Chambers USA’s Leading Business Lawyers for 2009

Fourteen of the 37 senior attorneys at Downs Rachlin Martin are recognized in the recently published Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2009, and the firm is ranked in the top tier in all five practice areas the organization ranks in Vermont. Selections were based on extensive research, including peer and client evaluations, conducted each year by Chambers.

“Boasting offices in New Hampshire and upstate New York in addition to its four Vermont branches, this excellent firm is the largest in the state and is a frequent presence on major deals,” the published commentary concludes. In addition to its “successful captive insurance practice that represents a large proportion of Vermont’s captive companies,” the firm is cited for its “unparalleled” intellectual property practice and “depth in employment and labor law which is usually only seen in major city firms.” The litigation group is “capable of handling just about anything that happens in Vermont” and “the state’s largest, dedicated real estate team” has a “national and even an international presence,” the editorial summary states.

Burlington-based intellectual property lawyer Peter B. Kunin and Brattleboro-based labor and employment attorney Timothy E. Copeland are ranked for the first time in this year’s guide. They join founder and senior director Robert D. Rachlin; captive insurance attorney Kathleen H. Davis; litigators Marc B. Heath and Walter E. Judge Jr.; labor and employment lawyers Johan W.E. Maitland, Peter B. Robb and Patricia M. Sabalis; corporate-commercial attorneys Thomas H. Moody and Paul H. Ode Jr.; patent attorney Larry H. Meier; and real estate lawyers William W. Schroeder and R. Prescott Jaunich, who continue to be top-ranked by Chambers.
