BURLINGTON, VT – To provide physicians and health care providers with updates on federal meaningful use requirements and incentives for electronic health records, Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) is hosting a series of free lunchtime webinars Wednesdays this March. Participants can learn about Stage 1 and Stage 2 meaningful use for eligible providers and receive advice on implementing patient portals from VITL’s eHealth specialists.
“Whether your practice is already receiving meaningful use incentive payments, or you are still thinking about participating and utilizing electronic health records, each webinar will provide essential information for you to take the next step,” said Robert Gibson, VITL’s vice president, marketing and business development. “As health IT requirements continue to evolve, local providers should look to VITL’s eHealth specialists as a valuable resource for current information and to ask any questions they may have.”
The schedule of VITL’s webinars include:
• Preparing for Stage 2 Meaningful Use – March 5, Noon – 1 p.m.
This webinar provides an in-depth look at the core and menu objectives for Stage 2, including the higher thresholds that must be met, and the new objectives which emphasize health information exchange between providers to improve patient care coordination.
• Implementing a Successful Patient Portal – March 12, Noon – 1 p.m.
Under Stage 2 of meaningful use, patients must be given online access to their health information. Learn more about how to implement a patient portal, along with tips for getting patients involved in using it.
• Changes in Stage 1 Meaningful Use for 2014 – March 19, Noon – 1 p.m.
This webinar is for providers who are considering joining the electronic health records incentive program, or are already in the program and working toward achieving Stage 1 of meaningful use. In addition, 2014 changes in clinical quality measure reporting for all providers, regardless of whether they are Stage 1 or Stage 2 will also be discussed.
