BRATTLEBORO, VT—The public is invited to attend a panel
discussion: “Social Media Influencer Marketing – What is it? What are the
Benefits?” The program, sponsored by Vermont Independent Media’s Media
Mentoring Project, will take place on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. via

Influencers Colleen Blair and her sister Erin Torres, representing Travel
Like a Local, along with Greg Lesch, executive director of the Brattleboro

oversee Brattleboro’s tourism marketing initiative.
The program will be moderated by Joyce Marcel, writer of award-winning cover
stories for Vermont Business Magazine who also is legislative writer for The
Commons.

MMP also sponsors an ongoing workshop “Writing for Publication.” Here
first-time and seasoned writers explore how to develop an idea to “find
your voice.” Help is offered to refine writing skills in a supportive
environment. And there is the potential for completed pieces to be published
in the Voices section of The Commons.
VIM is also currently offering school visits by professional journalists to
speak on issues of the day and the meaningful role that media plays.
