Central Vermont residents waiting for fast Internet can get the latest on
CVFiber’s fiber network build-out at an informational webinar on Wednesday,
September 21 at 7:00 p.m.
CVFiber plans to begin construction of its 1,200-mile fiber network this
fall, and to complete the work in four years. Initial work will focus on
areas with slow or no Internet, with a goal of reaching 60% of the
underserved in 2023 and 90% by 2025.
“We are currently navigating through all the pre-construction steps,”
said Jerry Diamantides, chair of the CVFiber Governing Board, who will host
the webinar. “We are aiming to get as much work done as possible before the
snow flies.”
The webinar can be accessed at https://cvfiber.net/webinar. Those without
Internet access can join by phone at 1-689-206-9353, then enter Conference ID

About CVFiber
CVFiber is a nonprofit municipality formed in March 2018. It is one of nine
communications union districts (CUDs) in Vermont, tasked with building
community-governed nonprofit broadband networks that will ultimately reach
every address in Vermont. CVFiber membership includes 21 communities that
voted to create and join the organization. Each community appoints a delegate
and alternates to the Governing Board. These representatives and other
volunteers serve on five committees—Executive, Policy, Planning and
Development, Communications, and Finance — which meet regularly to advance
the goal of bringing universal, affordable broadband to our towns. More
