Caledonia County Fair celebrates 175th year Aug. 25-29

Vermont's oldest agricultural fair will celebrate its 175th year Aug. 25-29 in Lyndonville with midway rides and games, the Royal Hanneford Circus, Mike Piazza & The Flying High Dogs, magic shows, live music, livestock events, horse shows, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, chainsaw carvers, Children's Tent activities, a milking parlor, exhibits, demonstrations, bingo, favorite fair food and more.

Fair highlights include Mini-Horse Pull (6 pm), Kids Power Wheels Demo and Van & Team Demo Derby (6:30 pm) on Wednesday; Farm Tractor Pull (11 am), "Country Music Parodist" Cledus T. Judd (8:30 pm) on Thursday; Kingdom's Got Talent (2 pm), 4 X 4 Pull (6:30 pm), Raized on Radio (8 pm) on Friday; Gymkhana (10 am), Grand Cavalcade (11:30 am), Log Loader Competition (2 pm), The Ultimate Aldean Tribute (8:15 pm) on Saturday; Ox Pulls (10 am on), Pig Scramble (noon) and Demo Derby (1 pm qualifying, 6 pm finals) on Sunday.

Daily pay-one-price admission (adults and children 36 inches or taller): $20 on site; $16 online pre-sale (before 11:59 pm Tues., Aug 24); $12 for seniors on Friday

Fair gates open at 4 pm Wednesday and 7 am Thursday - Sunday on the Mountain View Park fairgrounds at 1 Fairgrounds Road. Midway hours are 4-11 pm Wednesday, 11 am-11 pm Thursday - Saturday, and 11 am-9 pm Sunday.
