Recovery Day is for everyone! Join us for a day of bonding, testimony, personal stories, and resources from around the state! Hear from our legislators, our recovery centers, recovery residences, Writers for Recovery and so many more!
Although we cannot gather together at the Statehouse in person this year, we will come together online to celebrate the work of this amazing community! Come for all, or part of the day!

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for our upcoming online Recovery Coach Academy in March 2021!
Online Vermont Recovery Coach Academy
March 22nd - March 26th, 2021
Now accepting applications!
The Vermont Recovery Coach Academy is a comprehensive, IC&RC approved, 46 hour-training that centers around the evidence-based principles of recovery coaching: motivational interviewing, resource provision, boundaries, and wellness plans.
Our graduates use this training in many different professional arenas. Notably, at our state's renowned system of recovery centers, hospitals, corrections, and employment agencies.
The Academy requires participants to have access to a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a strong WiFi connection. Trainings will be held daily on Zoom from 9am - 3pm with additional hours of daily online learning.

We will be hosting our 2-Day Supervision Training on March 8 & 9, 2021 from 9am - 3pm daily. Registration is now open!
The Supervision Training program is designed for those working in the substance use disorder recovery field who want to learn the basic principles of being a supervisor (an individual who manages other staff members), and what the unique boundaries, challenges, and opportunities of being a supervisor are in a recovery setting.
Requirements:
- Completed the Vermont Recovery Coach Academy
- Approval from your supervisor
- Attendance is required for the entirety of the training
- A computer or table with a strong WiFi connection, video and audio capabilities

Thursday, February 18th

Join Melissa Story and Danielle Sessler from Recovery Vermont for an open Motivational Interviewing practice session with a focus on open-ended questions. Introduction to Recovery Dharma
Monday, February 22nd
12-1pm
Join Mary Donnelly from Central Vermont New Directions Coalition for “Introduction to Recovery Dharma.”
In this Introduction to Recovery Dharma we will explore the origins of this peer-led movement and community, it’s plan for recovery– not only from the suffering caused by substance abuse disorders– but including process addictions and codependency. The Buddhist based practices that form the foundation of Recovery Dharma will be outlined and explained. After time for questions there will be an optional 10-15 minute guided meditation from the Recovery Dharma book. This class is free and open to anyone who would like to learn. Understanding Implicit Bias
Thursday, February 25th

Join Nikki Fuller of Workplace Matters for “Understanding Implicit Bias.”
This training is a highly interactive introduction to implicit bias and how it operates in our day-to- day life without us even being aware. Participants will learn what implicit bias is, where it comes from, and the hurt and injury that these unconscious biases can cause. Finally, we will discuss strategies for uncovering and managing those biases.This class is free and open to anyone who would like to learn. Click to learn more and to register.



Recovery Advocacy Training
Wednesday, February 24th
1-3:30pm
Join Vermont recovery advocates Peter Mallary and Peter Espenshade for a fun training on advocacy best practices. You’ll learn it all: from advocating in the workplace, to advocating in the health care system, to advocating in the Capitol. Don’t miss this chance to get skills to further the substance use disorder recovery movement in Vermont and nationally.This class is free and open to anyone who would like to learn.
