Hundreds of Rights & Democracy (RAD) members and supporters will gather Saturday in Brattleboro to hear from two inspiring speakers at RAD's annual Membership Assembly & People Power Summit.
The event will feature the announcement of who RAD members have elected to support in the Democratic primary for president.
Earlier this month, hundreds of members from New Hampshire and Vermont participated in a three-day, online election to determine which Democratic presidential primary candidate the bi-state, grassroots organization will support.
New Hampshire is home to the First in the Nation Primary in February, while Vermont’s primary falls on Super Tuesday in March.
This year’s featured keynote speakers are Rep. Ayanna Pressley and former State Sen. Nina Turner. Pressley, of Massachusetts and a member of “The Squad,” has recently endorsed Sen. Elizabeth Warren for president while Turner is the national co-chairwoman of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign and a national surrogate for Sanders.
After hearing from these two powerful speakers (starting around 1PM), RAD will reveal who its members have chosen to endorse. You can see the full day's agenda below (subject to change).
A closing plenary with Vermont Senate Majority Leader Becca Balint and New Hampshire State Rep. Tim Smith will focus on how RAD members can help to win on core issues like raising the minimum wage and paid family and medical leave in both state houses, and why it’s crucial to organize year-round and not just during an election year.
RAD’s annual daylong event will also feature skill-building workshops, food, and fun. The full list of workshop titles is listed below, after the agenda.
DATE, TIME & LOCATION: This year's Assembly & Summit will be held on November 16 from 9am - 5pm at the School for International Training, Kipling Road, Brattleboro.
