UVM Innovations will host the 13th annual Invention to Venture conference on April 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Dudley H. Davis Center on the UVM campus.
Dawn Barry, co-founder and president of Luna DNA and a UVM class of ’96 alumna, is the keynote speaker.
Registration is required. (See https://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1487189 for details.)
The goal of the conference is to provide an engaging setting where industry leaders can share information, resources and the ideas that made them successful with entrepreneurs, would-be entrepreneurs, potential investors, the private sector, researchers, government officials and students.
The conference also provides an opportunity to recognize UVM faculty with newly issued patent awards.
The conference has grown steadily since its founding in 2005 and is now one of the key entrepreneurship events in Vermont.
There will be 12 roundtable topics, ranging from “Funding Business Growth” to “Pitching and Pitch Decks” to an “Intellectual Property Primer.” Each of the three 10- person roundtable sessions are 30 minutes, with a 15-minute buffer to conclude the session.
Luna DNA is the first and only genomic and medical research database powered by the blockchain. At the intersection of science, engineering and community engagement, the company merges advancements in personal DNA testing, digital currency, and the blockchain to accelerate discoveries that will improve healthcare while empowering participants to have an equitable stake in these discoveries.
