UPS Green Mountain United Way Golf Classic to happen on July 29

Barre, Vermont – Join UPS Berlin and St. Johnsbury

Distribution Centers and Green Mountain United Way for a beautiful day of

golf to be held at the Country Club of Barre on Saturday, July 29 to raise

money for Green Mountain United Way’s programs and impact priorities in

communities in Caledonia, Essex, Orange, Orleans, and Washington Counties

through work in the areas of health, education and financial stability.

“This is our biggest event and longest standing event at Green Mountain

United Way and we cannot thank UPS enough for the support they give us in

putting this tournament together – it really is a UNITED effort”,”

Green Mountain United Way Executive Director, Tawnya Kristen, said. “Thanks

to the generosity of the many people who make this event successful, we are

able to make a significant difference in the areas of health, education, and

financial stability in our region, which has some of the highest poverty in

the state. The good that will be done because of this tournament is

enormous.”

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont has signed on as a sponsor again in

2017 at the Dinner Sponsor Level and Community National Bank is once again

supporting the event at the Eagle Level.

The event will be held at the Country Club of Barre at 142 Drake Road in

Barre, Vermont on Saturday July 29. Participants can pre-register online at

www.gmunitedway.org or by calling the Green Mountain United Way Central

includes greens fees, two carts, registration gifts and dinner for golfers

catered by the Country Club of Barre, as well as complimentary light snacks

and bottled water on the course. Day of event registration will open at 11:30

“UPS is a committed partner of the United Way and The Golf Classic is an

excellent way to connect to our local community and multiply the amount of

good we are able to do through the United Way each year, as well as a great

way to get outside and have some fun!” said Phil Parson, District Center

Manager at UPS.

The format will be a 4-player scramble and every team must use at least three

tee shots from each player. Prizes and dinner will follow the tournament –

prizes include winners for High Score, Longest Drive, Closest to Pin, Low
