Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets to host the 6th Annual Consumer Night at the Vermont Farm Show on Wednesday, February 1st from 4:00–7:00 PM.
WHAT: Winter Buy Local Market: A seasonal farmers’ market featuring farmers and producers of local cheese, meat, fruits and vegetables, ice cream, maple syrup, honey, wine, beer, spirits, and handmade crafts as well as ready-to-eat prepared foods.
Capitol Cook-Off: An Iron Chef-style competition celebrating Vermont food in which members of the Vermont House of Representatives, Senate, and Agency of Agriculture compete to prepare the best local dish featuring an exciting secret ingredient. Final dishes will be judged by a team of Vermont food experts and Lt. Governor David Zuckerman.
WHO: Governor Phil Scott, Lt. Governor David Zuckerman, Secretary of Agriculture Anson Tebbetts, members of the Vermont House of Representatives & Senate; Vermont Agency of Agriculture staff, Vermont Agency of Natural Resources staff, and other Vermont food and agriculture professionals. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, Alyson Eastman and Ag Director of Administrative Services, Diane Bothfeld will co-MC the event.
