Southern Vermont College Hosts Future of Nursing Initiative Panel
(BENNINGTON, Vt.) –Southern Vermont College’s Division of Nursing will host four visiting nurse scientists as they discuss their dissertation research, with timely topics ranging from transgender issues to HPV vaccination. This event, in collaboration with Vermont’s Future of Nursing Initiative, will take place at the College’s Healthcare Education Center (located at 160 Benmont Avenue in Bennington) Thursday, October 1, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The public is invited, and refreshments will be served.
The topics of discussion include: “Improving Healthcare Access for Transgender and Gender Nonconforming College Students: An Interdisciplinary Human Factors Approach” by Jordan Bosse, MSN/ED, RN; “Relationship Between Unit Organizational Culture and Patient Outcomes” by Jin Jun, MSN, APRN-BC, CCRN; “Attitudes Toward HPV Vaccination Among Asian American Students: Integration of Theory and Research” by Minjin Kim, MSN, RN; “Parental Uncertainty and Health-Related Quality of Life in Children with Cancer” by Ijeoma Julie Ogunlade, MSN, FNP-BC, CPON; and “Undergraduate Preceptorships” by Gloria Otoo, RNC-OB, C-EFM.
The baccalaureate nursing program at Southern Vermont College, including the Pre-Licensure BSN track and the RN-BSN track, is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). SVC’s Division of Nursing offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with two tracks. The Pre-Licensure BSN track is designed for individuals who wish to achieve a BSN and upon graduation be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination. The RN-BSN track is designed for registered nurses who wish to continue their education and achieve a BSN.
