Call for nominations for United Way’s annual

volunteer awards program

United Way of Chittenden County invites individuals and organizations to nominate community volunteers for the 2015 Building Block Awards. These awards honor outstanding volunteers helping to address community needs in the areas of Education, Income & Health.

The program recognizes Chittenden County volunteers for their leadership in addressing one of three “Building Blocks for a Better Community”:

  • Education – supporting readiness to learn, school success or positive youth development.
  • Income – addressing emergency food & shelter, affordable housing or stable employment.
  • Health areas – improving access to healthcare, supporting strong families or promoting independent living.

The nomination deadline is Wednesday, July 8th and all nominees will be honored as winners at the LIVE UNITED Celebration the morning of September 24 at the Flynn Center for Performing Arts in Burlington.

To nominate a volunteer, go to www.unitedwaycc.org/volunteer to download the nomination flyer and form or to find a link to the online nomination.  Simply complete the nomination form, tell us how your nominee has made a positive impact in Education, Income or Health and submit a photo for use at the awards presentation.  For more information or to get the nomination materials, contact Laurie at (802) 861-7832 or [email protected].
