VMEC medical device and ISO 9001 quality standards training, June 1 & 2

The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) is pleased to announce they will be offering two internal quality auditing training courses this June. ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 will be held on Monday and Tuesday, June 1 and June 2, 2015 at The Essex in Essex Junction.

ISO 9001:2008 is designed to instruct participants on how to become internal quality auditors. They will learn basic auditing concepts, the key characteristics of a successful auditor, audit planning, audit scheduling, audit checklist and report, and how to document non-conformances. This course also covers how a well-planned internal auditing program can result in continuous improvement. Highlights of the session will include: ISO 9001 Requirements and Intent, Purpose and Scope of an Internal Quality Audit, Basic Auditing Concepts and the Auditing "Process", Identify Organization's Product Realization Processes, Management Controls, Key Characteristics of an Auditor, Audit Checklists and much more.

ISO 13485:2003 provides quality management system requirements for medical devices/components design and manufacture, both domestic and international.  This course is designed to instruct participants in the requirements of the 13485 specification and how to become internal quality auditors. They will learn basic auditing concepts, the key characteristics of a successful auditor, audit planning, audit scheduling, audit checklist and report and how to document non-conformances. This course also covers how a well planned internal auditing program can result in continual improvement.  Highlights of the session include ISO 13485 Requirements and Intent, Purpose and Scope of an Internal Quality Audit, Basic Auditing Concepts and the Auditing "Process", Identify Organization’s Product Realization Processes, Management Controls, Key Characteristics of an Auditor, Audit Checklists and much more.

Both sessions are designed for Internal Quality Auditors, Functional Managers, Quality Assurance Personnel and Supervisors. The total fee for each of the trainings is $895 per person, which covers registration, materials, and breakfast and lunch each day.
