National Leader in Sustainable Investing to Speak in Hanover, NH May 19 and Burlington May 20

UBS Global Asset Management’s Bruno Bertocci, Head of Sustainable Equity Investors and Senior Portfolio Manager, will be speaking at the Hanover Inn in Hanover, NH on May 19 and the Hotel Vermont in Burlington on May 20 to discuss Sustainable Investing and how this values-based approach is yielding tangible results.

Bertocci is one of the leading figures in the field of Sustainable Investing and during his 33 years of investment industry experience, has seen the demand for socially responsible investing evolve into this more comprehensive strategy. Today’s approach evaluates sustainability criteria across a wide range of assets – stocks, bonds, commodities and non-traditional ones – and selects the investments that align best with an investor’s values, goals and financial objectives.

Once a niche segment, sustainable investing has entered the mainstream. From 2010 to 2012, sustainable and responsible investing enjoyed a growth rate of more than 22 percent, increasing from $3.07 trillion in 2010, according to US SIF, the Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment. Today more than one out of every nine dollars under professional management in the United States—11% of the $33.3 trillion in total assets under management tracked by Thomson Reuters Nelson—is involved in this type of investing.

Bertocci’s visit is made possible by Financial Advisors David Carris and Neil Kvasnak of UBS Financial Services in South Burlington. “At a time of increasing concerns about global economic and environmental crises and global health and poverty concerns, people are searching for investments that can address these challenges,” explains Carris. “We felt Bertocci would be a great resource to explain how sustainable investing works.”

By incorporating environmental, social and governance research, investors can identify sustainable companies that are expected to outperform market averages over the long term. For investors this means they can direct their assets to make a positive impact and express their values while achieving competitive results.

The talks are free, but a reservation is required due to limited seating. For more information or to reserve a spot, contact David Carris or Neil Kvasnak at UBS, 802-860-5792 or [email protected].
