Guidance updates for holiday gatherings, youth sports, outdoor rec

Vermont Business Magazine On Tuesday, Governor Phil Scott announced a small, temporary modification to restrictions on multi-household gatherings during the holidays. Between December 23rd and January 2nd, households may gather with one other trusted household.

Governor Scott also announced youth sports may resume with no-contact practices. Effective December 26th, school-based and youth recreational programs may begin practices with individual skills, strength and conditioning. The Agency of Education has released full guidance for school-based sports.

Vermonters may resume outdoor activities with those outside of their household, as long as physical distancing, masking and other precautions are observed.

Congressman Peter Welch Joins Business Webinar

Congressman Welch will be joining ACCD and the Department of Health tomorrow, Wednesday, December 23rd from 3:00pm – 4:00pm for the weekly business webinar. The Congressman will be on hand to review the most recently passed federal COVID-19 Relief Bill. The webinar will end with a Q&A session. The SBA Vermont District Office hosts free webinars Tuesdays and Wednesdays about Paycheck Protection Program forgiveness. Topics include criteria, the process, changes and more. Forevergreen Virtual Concert Series

The Department of Tourism and Marketing has announced a five-part virtual concert series featuring local Vermont musicians, as well as regional and national acts who have an affinity for the state. The series is called “Forevergreen: A Vermont Adventure in Music” and launches on Saturday, December 26th. The first episode features Kat Wright, Twiddle, and Taj Mahal. The concert series is intended to keep people connected to the state and to provide some inspiration for better days ahead.
