VDH COVID-19 Update: 60th death, 51 new cases

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Department of Health today is reporting that another Vermonter has died of COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 60. It's the first death in the state from the novel coronavirus in nearly two weeks. The death occurred in Rutland County. WCAX is reporting that the death occurred in a longterm care facility. The last death from COVID came November 7 in Orleans County. Altogether, the VDH reported 51 cases statewide today, which is a decrease from the recent spike of record-breaking numbers, which have been close to or over 100. There are 17 people hospitalized with two people in the ICU.

What You Need to Know Now

Vermont is seeing a surge in cases of COVID-19. Here’s what you need to know now to help stop the spread:

• Do not get together or socialize with anyone you don’t live with. There is an exception for those who live alone — they may gather with members of their immediate family.
• Avoid travel when possible, even within Vermont. Anyone who does travel to or from Vermont must quarantine. The only exception is for essential travel.
• Wear a mask.
• If you’re sick, stay home.
• Get tested if you have any symptoms, are a close contact of a case, or have been in a social gathering or other risky situation.
• Get your flu shot! Stay as healthy as you can!
