Vermont Business Magazine Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) is hosting a fundraising campaign and online auction to raise money for its telehealth program. The campaign is being held in lieu of Seasons of Life Fashion Show, Dinner & Live Auction, CVHHH’s largest annual fundraiser and event, which was canceled because of COVID-19.
On Wednesday, October 28, CVHHH will open an online auction with a long list of items up for grabs, including:
- $1,000 shopping spree at Central Vermont boutiques like Onion River Outdoors, Wilkins Harley Davidson, and Bunya Bunya
- Dinner for six with Rusty Dewees
- Camping package with a Yeti cooler
- Dinner kits for two from Morse Block Deli, and much more
Proceeds from the campaign and auction will be used to support telehealth at CVHHH. To support the campaign and for information about the auction, visit www.cvhhh.org/telehealth2020
About Telehealth at CVHHH
Telehealth utilizes telemonitors—portable electronic devices the size of an iPad—to remotely connect people at home with CVHHH office-based clinicians. For years, CVHHH has used Telehealth to support individuals living with chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease to manage their conditions and reduce their risk of hospitalization.
During the first wave of COVID-19 earlier this year, CVHHH used telehealth to serve clients across its programs, including Home Care, Maternal-Child Health, Long-Term Care, and Bereavement. The telemonitors are equipped with video functionality and allow CVHHH’s registered nurses, rehab therapists, and other staff to provide remote care and check-ins between in-person visits.
Amy Bessett, RN, oversees CVHHH’s telehealth program and says: “Current conditions can make accessing healthcare through traditional avenues challenging. Our priority is to connect patients with the healthcare they need. As we await a vaccine for COVID-19 and head into cold and flu season, CVHHH will meet this challenge by expanding telehealth options and partnering with local providers to facilitate this care. I am proud that CVHHH can meet this need.”
