ACCD: DMV offices reopening, Ag grant deadline, cross-state travel map

Agency of Commerce & Community Development The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has reopened three more branch offices, in Bennington, Newport, and Springfield. The openings to the public are by appointment only using the new online scheduling system. The hours of operation for appointments at these three locations, in addition to the branch office locations already open in Montpelier, South Burlington, and Rutland, will be 8 am to 4 pm.

Application Deadline Extended for Agriculture Grants

The deadline for the Vermont COVID-19 Agricultural Assistance Program (VCAAP) Dairy Assistance Application and Agriculture and Working Lands Application has been extended to November 15, 2020. The Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (AAFM) will temporarily suspend taking new applications for a couple of weeks to update the application. AAFM will continue to process applications received prior to the initial deadline of October 1st.

CWE Offers Webinar to Prepare for Next Phase of COVID Relief

The Center for Women and Enterprise is hosting a webinar called "COVID Response: How to Prepare Your Business for the Next COVID Relief." The webinar will cover record-keeping and income statement creation to help people get prepared for the next round of Vermont grants. The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, October 8th from 11:00am-Noon.

Cross State Travel Map Update

The Cross State Travel Map and data modeling presentation were updated Tuesday. Virus growth has continued throughout the northeast with new confirmed cases rising by 48% compared to last week. With several counties going into red and yellow status on the cross state travel map, the eligible number of travelers who can come to Vermont without quarantine fell from 4.2 million to 2.8 million.

Technical Assistance Programs Now Available

Free technical assistance is now available through the Small Business Recovery Technical Assistance Program with support in a variety of areas being provided by the state’s 12 regional development corporations, Champlain College, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Northern Community Investment Corporation, and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund.
