Vermont orthopedic surgeons say now is the time to get care

Vermont Business Magazine YES! Now that Governor Phil Scott has made the decision to open up doctor’s offices to non-emergent care, the leadership of Vermont Orthopaedic Society (VOS) want to let you and your family know that it is safe to go see your orthopedic surgeon. The physicians of the VOS have met and put into place safety measures including:

  • social distancing in the waiting rooms and reception,
  • masking by the physician and staff to protect you
  • patients and essential companions wearing masks to protect themselves and others
  • COVID-19 symptom screening
  • enhanced disinfection techniques
  • outbreak surveillance

Please do not put off care that is affecting your well-being! Now is the time to be seen for injuries, arthritis, disabilities, joint and spine pain. The members of VOS ask that you continue to do your part to stop the spread of COVID 19 through social distancing, masking and hand washing. Telemedicine visits are available in many locations, however, please realize that telemedicine visits for orthopedic conditions are often inadequate for getting a complete diagnosis and treatment.

“Now that the first COVID 19 surge is past and we have enhanced safety techniques, you no longer need to have untreated aches, pains, injuries and disabilities” states Melbourne D Boynton MD, President of Vermont Orthopedic Society.

Now is the time to seek care for musculoskeletal problems, injuries and conditions.
