Seventh Generations Jeffrey Hollender to address Champlain College graduates

BURLINGTON, Vt.--Jeffrey Hollender, president and chief regeneration officer of Seventh Generation, will address graduates at Champlain Colleges 128th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 6.
Hollender is a well-respected leader in the socially and environmentally responsible communities. He has led Seventh Generation from humble beginnings to its current position as the nations leading brand of natural home and personal care products, and an authority on issues related to making a positive difference in the health of the planet and its inhabitants through everyday choices.
An entrepreneur at heart, Hollenders first business ventures were rooted in adult education. He began the not-for-profit organizations Skills Exchange of Toronto, a learning exchange that offered practical and professional development classes, and Network for Learning in New York City, an adult education and audio-publishing company; both were social and financial successes. After his tenure as president of Warner Audio Publishing in New York City, Jeffrey seized the opportunity to work with a small mail order catalog of energy conservation products, Renew America. The company eventually blossomed into Seventh Generation, based in Burlington, Vt.
Hollender frequently addresses social and environmental responsibility at regional, national and international venues. He is a member and former director of the Social Venture Network, a group of socially-conscious business executives. He co-founded and was a director of Community Capital Bank, a New York financial institution that invests in affordable housing and community development. Hollender served as president of The Rainforest Foundation USA, an organization created to protect the rainforest and the human rights of its indigenous peoples. He also served as a board member and chair of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors of The Green Guide Institute and the Advisory Board of the Chlorine Free Products Association.
A resident of Charlotte, Vt., Hollender, is the author of three books: the recently published Naturally Clean: Seventh Generations Guide to Safe & Healthy, Non-Toxic Cleaning; What Matters Most; How a visionary group of pioneers are teaching social responsibility to big business - and why big business is listening; and How to Make the World a Better Place: A Guide for Doing Good. He was also an advisor to The Council on Economic Priorities' best-selling guide book, Shopping for a Better World.
Hollender has addressed such varied groups as the Harvard Environmental Forum, the World Resources Institute Sustainable Enterprise Summit, Nike's Apparel Group, the Environmental Protection Agencys Waste Conference, the United Nations Summit on Sustainable Growth, and the Businesses for Social Responsibility national conference.
In early May, he will address graduates of Champlain College, a private, baccalaureate institution founded in 1878. The College offers career-oriented programs in business, technology and human services balanced by a liberal arts foundation.
