Champlain Cable celebrates 50 years of excellence on July 31, 2005 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, at its manufacturing facility. This is an open house for suppliers, business associates and employees past and present.
Champlain Cable has been and continues to be a successful leader in the Wire and Cable Industry and is proud to tell their story of how and why it has remained vibrant and innovative for the past 50 years. Standing the test of time Champlain Cable has been operating in the same small town in Northwestern Vermont for 50 years and under the same roof for the last 42 years.

In the 1950's the company's first market was military applications, the 60's we expanded to aerospace expressly making wire for the Apollo series, then onto wiring for military and commercial aircraft. During the 1970's Champlain Cable invented EXAR® an irradiated cross-linked polyolefin that is highly heat resistant. This family of products allowed us to enter the industrial markets. This same EXAR® technology was designed into telecommunication applications during the 80's. The 90's was a decade that incorporated all past technologies, small diameter wires required for the aerospace market, cost effective, high temperature insulation required for industrial applications and precision cabled wire required for data communications. This combination quickly launched Champlain Cable as a leader and problem solver in the automotive market.
