BRUCE DOUGLAS, P.E., JOINS STONE ENVIRONMENTAL

MONTPELIER, VERMONT The partners of Stone Environmental, Inc. are pleased to announce that Bruce Douglas, a nationally respected soil scientist, hydrologist, and engineer, has joined their staff as vice president of the Water Resources Management group.

Bruce has 27 years of experience in evaluating and mitigating environmental concerns from both agricultural and urban activities. He has led numerous projects involving field studies (at field, watershed, and regional scales), modeling, spatial analysis, and engineering to characterize, analyze, and reduce the impacts of nutrients, pathogens, and pesticides on water quality.

Bruce's presence at Stone broadens the scope of our water resources capabilities beyond our well-established decentralized wastewater management services, said company president Chris Stone. His multidisciplinary approach offers clients a broad range of solutions to address their needs. Bruce brings great technical skills, confirmed project leadership qualities, and a proven track record of delivering excellent work for clients, and we are delighted to have him back on the Stone team.

Before joining Stone, Bruce ran his own environmental consulting and engineering firm specializing in integrated water resource management services. He has also worked for private engineering consultancies (including Stone Environmental) and the state of Vermont's Department of Environmental Conservation. He specializes in hydrogeological investigations, decentralized wastewater management, distributed stormwater management, water supply protection, and small-scale water supply and wastewater permitting. Bruce holds an M.S. in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Vermont and a B.S. in Hydrology from the University of New Hampshire. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in the state of Vermont.
