Blodgett to supply over 5,000 KFCs with energy-efficient ovens

Burlington-based Blodgett Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial ovens, continues to expand its US presence through a new partnership with KFC. Blodgett will provide energy efficient ovens to over 5,000 KFC restaurants across the country to make KFC’s new Kentucky Grilled Chicken (KGC) product. With annual sales already over $71 million, and employing 160 local workers, Blodgett’s new deal with KFC is expected create more local jobs, according to information provided by the company.
To celebrate this partnership, Blodgett and the Lake Champlain KFC Co-Op are joining forces and will co-host Celebrate Burlington Business next Tuesday, April 21 at the KFC restaurant in Burlington (408 Shelburne Road). Taking place from 11 am-1 pm, Celebrate Burlington Business will recognize the recent deal and dine on the new KGC (which debuted Tuesday). Burlington Mayor Bob Kiss is expected to attend and provide remarks. Gary Mick, Blodgett President, and David Purinton, Lake Champlain KFC Co-Op President, will also provide remarks.
The Lake Champlain KFC Co-Op is comprised of nine local KFC restaurants and generates over $7.5 million in annual sales.
