Burlington--Due to popular interest in the Fall Professional Certificate in Leadership & Management program, The Vermont Business Center has added a Spring Professional Certificate program starting March 13th. The Vermont Business Center's Leadership and Management Professional Certificate Program is designed to provide participants with a management "toolkit," including key concepts, vocabulary and analytical tools essential for effective management and strategic decision making.
For those who work in Manufacturing, Information Technology, Heathcare, Telecommunications, or Environmental Technology, The Vermont Deptaremtn of Economic Development offers a 50% discount toward a University of Vermont Leadership & Management Certificate, and 50% toward individual clas ses.
This certificate program is designed for participants to attend 9 classes over a 9 week period.
As a participant you will:
Refine your skills in the core areas of business from leadership and strategy to human resources skills, while developing and strengthening your ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Enhance your strategic thinking and decision making skills through the use of management tools and analytical frameworks enabling you to attain a body of knowledge preparing you for advancement and increased responsibilities in your field.
Build your network of peers, beyond your own organization, to serve as a powerful extension of advisors and connectors.
The certificate consists of a total of 67.5 hours of course work. Participants will receive 6 CEUs upon completion of the program. Included in the program is one-on-one coaching through the Coaching Center of Vermont.
The certificate program begins March 13th, 2009 from 8:30 to 4:30, with the the seminar The Srategic Leaders: Organizational Performance from the Center Out. Eight seminars follow, continuting into June. Participants can take classes as a Certificate or individually.
