Vermont Arts Endowment Fund awards $85,000 to groups around the state

The Vermont Arts Endowment Fund and the Concert Artists Fund, two component funds of the Vermont Community Foundation, announced that together they have awarded a total of $85,028 to 26 organizations and individuals across the state.
The Vermont Arts Endowment Fund awarded grants totaling $38,528 to support the creation and production of new work by Vermont artists and arts organizations, and provide technical assistance for arts organizations. The Concert Artists Fund awarded $46,500 to support performances of classical music in Chittenden County.

$1,000 to support the production and performance of "A Christmas Flourish."
Burlington Chamber Orchestra, Burlington
$2,000 to support 2011-2012 performances in the McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall at St. Michael's College.
Burlington Choral Society, Burlington
$1,500 to support 2011-2012 season performances in celebration of the 35th anniversary.
Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, Burlington
$3,000 to support a co-presentation with the Flynn and Vermont Symphony Orchestra of "Carnival of the Animals" for grades K-4 as part of the Flynn's Student Matinee Series.
Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Burlington
$2,000 to support faculty concerts at the UVM Recital Hall and the outreach series of students performances.
Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival, Winooski
$10,000 to support artist fees for the 2011 Summer Festival Concert Series.
UVM Lane Series, Burlington
$1,500 to support chamber/solo concert presentations with world-class performers that highlight masterworks of the Western Classical Music genre.
Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble, Fairfax
$10,000 to support the production of a tenth anniversary Remembrance of 9/11/01 concert.
Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Burlington
$7,500 to support the 2011/2012 Masterworks Series at the Flynn Center.
