The Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council is inviting Vermonters with developmental disabilities, their families and other interested community members to talk about what is working for them and what could help.
The input will be shared with policymakers and help VTDDC write its State Plan that will guide how it spends its federal funds for the next 5 years.

The Survey deadline is now March 21st. Anyone who has a developmental disability, is a family member, or provides services is especially encouraged to do the survey and let other people know about it. VTDDC is a state-wide Board. Sixty percent of its members are people with developmental disabilities or family members appointed by the Governor. VTDDC uses its federal grant to create positive change for people with developmental disabilities. It supports projects in policymaker and community education, leadership training, and advocacy aimed at enhancing individual and family-centered supports and services. For example, it funds Green Mountain Self-Advocates to expand local chapters throughout Vermont. It also funded the videos "The Apartment~Admit One to Adulthood’ and ‘Bill’s Bill, the History of Special Education in Vermont’, and the brochure "Choosing Words with Dignity". Even if you have never heard of VTDDC you might have heard of our small grant fund, that helps individuals and family members attend conferences and trainings.
The Mission of VTDDC is to help build connections and supports
that bring people with developmental disabilities and their
families
